Precinct Caucuses -- the first step in the 2024 elections -- are just around the corner!
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 27, 2024 -- Registration at 6:30 p.m., Convene at 7:00 p.m.
TWO LOCATIONS:
- Bloomington residents: Kennedy High School, 9701 Nicollet Av. S., Bloomington
- Edina residents: Valley View Middle School, 6750 Valley View Rd., Edina
What happens at Precinct Caucuses? You will have the opportunity to:
- Enjoy meeting like-minded people in your area.
- Meet your candidates and elected officials.
- Submit Resolutions and have your "say" in revising the State DFL Action Agenda and Ongoing Platform.
- Become a Precinct Chair and serve on SD50 DFL's Central Committee.
- Become a Delegate to SD50 DFL's April 20, 2024 Endorsing Convention where you will vote on endorsing our state-level candidates.
- Become a Delegate to the Hennepin County DFL Convention where you will vote on endorsing our county-level candidates.
Senate District 50 has 28 precincts (17 in Bloomington and 11 in Edina) and on caucus night, we need a caucus convenor for each precinct. A convenor is someone who convenes (calls to order) a meeting of a group of DFLers who all live in a particular precinct. We provide convenors with training and everything they need so they know exactly what to say and do on caucus night. We'll match you up with your own precinct if possible but the caucus you convene doesn't need to be your own precinct's -- and you can still participate in your own precinct's caucus by simply submitting a Non-Attendee Form.
